4U Radio Console Photos

Richard Dillman seated at the 4U console ready to explain the exhibit and demonstrate the 4U console in action. One of the channels in the HF transmitter has been re-crystaled for the 40m amateur band. The transmitter operates under the call W6KFS.

Is it 1945 or 2001? This black and white photo of the finished project illustrates what Tom Horsfall and Richard Dillman had in mind as they worked: time travel. You could step right into this picture and be transported to the last days of WWII as the SS Rider Victory began her first voyage.

Tom, Richard and Denice worked as docents at the exhibit when the console was turned on and demonstrated for interested visitors. Sadly, the Maritime Museum is now closed for renovation. We'll make an announcement when the exhibit can be seen once again.
